Frequently asked questions

Can you CTPAT-certify our supply chain?

No. CTPAT is a voluntary programme run by US Customs and Border Protection, which carries out validations itself.

Can overseas factories join CTPAT?

Eligibility is limited to certain entity types. Overseas factories are usually asked by their US importer to meet the minimum security criteria.

What do the minimum security criteria cover?

Areas such as physical security, access controls, personnel security, procedural security, IT security and conveyance security.

Does CTPAT relate to forced labour?

CTPAT has added forced labour expectations to its programme, so social compliance evidence increasingly matters.
