Second-party supplier social assessment

Assessment of your suppliers against your own code of conduct, with one methodology and one report format across every sourcing market.

Who this is for

  • Brands and importers sourcing from Asian suppliers
  • Sourcing and compliance directors with a supplier code of conduct
  • Companies preparing for EU and US forced labour rules
  • Buyers who want consistent data instead of mixed audit reports

How this fits our independence policy

This is assessment work. If we assess you against a standard, we will not also implement it for you. That keeps the result credible with buyers, assurers and certifiers.

Frequently asked questions

Who interviews workers?

Assessors who speak the workers' languages, with interviews held away from management.

Are assessments announced?

Announced, semi-announced or unannounced, depending on your policy and the risk at each supplier.

How is this different from an SA8000 or BSCI audit?

It measures suppliers against your own code, in your format. Scheme audits measure against the scheme's standard and are carried out by the scheme's approved auditors.

Will you also remediate the suppliers you assess?

No. If we assess a supplier for you, remediation is carried out by another party, so later assessments stay independent.
